Ketu Lagos Nigerian Born South African based Dancehall-Afrobeat Artist and Production Executive Da-Sting Rozay recently released a new dope roots Reggae joint through his independent label Kalasting Productions which he co-owns with Cape Town recording artist and producer Blk Kalamawi. The single is titled HUSTLE and it features one of Naija’s Top Recording Artist and International City People Music 2017 Award winner, Terry Apala from Mushin, Lagos. The song is currently available on iTunes.
HUSTLE is a mixture of Nigerian Afrobeat –Apala Hip-Hop and Reggae. The one drop or riddim as it’s called in the Reggae scene was produced by Ha Boi Productions’ multi-genre producer Mojelo. The riddim has all the qualities of a high standard Reggae song, the one-drop signature time sequence, chopping pianos and organs, not to mention the subtle dublike brass and melodies. Ha Boi Productions has also produced two other Da-Sting Rozay songs, “I SEE YOU” featuring one of Nigeria’s Afrobeat-Dancehall superstar Bolo Jay @emperor_bolojay and “NEED A GIRL” featuring Blk Kalamawi @blakkalamawi, Snymaan @snymaan_qabanation and South Africa’s top Trap Artist EMTEE @emteethehustla of “ROLL UP” fame. The music video for the song is currently doing well on YouTube.
Recently Da-Sting Rozay dropped another hot Street pop single featuring young Nigerian Instagram sensations and rising stars Zinolesky @zinolesky_official and Lilfrosh @official_lilfroh_ named “OMOTOLA” and will soon release yet another hot banger featuring young and talented artist Destiny Boy @iam_destinyboy from Nigeria.
Terry Apala’s feature on the song really gave the song an edge, his unique African voice touches the nerve and soul as he sings the first verse and chorus. Terry uses his music to share his culture and tradition and his music is inspired by the late Haruna Ishola, who is known as Apala music performer backed up by his Yoruba upbringing and culture. His rapid rise to stardom began with a performance with his former, now-defunct R&B group, Mezo Soprano.
Da-Sting Rozay will soon take a trip to Lagos, during which he will shoot multiple music videos, including the video for the new song “HUSTLE”. It’s so inspiring to see Mushin and Ketu artists represent African music on an international level. The song was mixed and mastered by 2t pun de beats.
Ha Boi Media wishes both artists success in their musical careers and will look out for more music to come. Shout Out to BaseBaba for great session coordination and links.
